Blade

Long before Disney acquired Marvel Entertainment, Wesley Snipes wanted to make a Black Panther film, but ended up making Blade instead.

Written by David S. Goyer, Blade came out in 1998 and is considered to have been a major influence on the modern-day superhero action genre. It was followed up by a sequel directed by Guillermo del Toro (The Shape Of Water) that was as good, if not better, than its predecessor. It even had a Stan Lee cameo, but it got cut (pun intended) from the movie.

Blade and Blade II are among my favorite films based on a Marvel Comics superhero, and I'd love to see the character appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
