I hope the upcoming The Predator is not some lame attempt to revive the franchise for a new generation. Yes, I'm aware that Shane Black, who played Hawkins in the original film, wrote and directed The Predator, but it looks like a sign of desperation whenever Hollywood keeps resorting to reboots.
One Predator sequel that didn't seem to get much fanfare and notice is the third movie, Predators, with Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne. In contrast to the second installment, Predators is an exceptionally good sequel. Even though it made a brief reference to the first film with Arnold Schwarzenegger, it can stand on its own in the film series. From the director of Sin City and Alita: Battle Angel, Robert Rodriguez, Predators is definitely a must-see and worth a second look.
