Rambo: First Blood Part II

There was this time long ago when American veterans were not welcomed and praised in their own country. It is shameful and sad how U.S. soldiers were poorly treated when they returned home after the Vietnam War.

James Cameron, who is Canadian, researched about the conflict in Vietnam and wrote a screenplay for the sequel to First Blood. Sylvester Stallone later drastically revised Cameron's script, but both received credit as the screenwriters for Rambo: First Blood Part II, released in 1985.

Naturally, James Cameron was disappointed that a lot of his written work didn't make it into the final cut of the film, but he got to apply his gained knowledge about the Vietnam War later in Aliens.

I've seen and enjoyed every film about John Rambo, and I'm looking forward to Rambo: Last Blood coming out next month.

As a filmmaker, Stallone has this uncommon talent for making movies that engage audiences to cheer the heroes on, and Rambo: First Blood Part II--the most successful installment in the entire franchise--exemplifies that perfectly. It's what makes watching a film at the cinema with a large group of people most enjoyable, and it's a rare movie experience you don't get with most action flicks these days.
