Dead Poets Society

I've always thought Robin Williams got robbed of an Oscar when he didn't win Best Actor for Dead Poets Society.

It's been 30 years since the film's release. Directed by Australian filmmaker, Peter Weir, Dead Poets Society provided a breakout role for Williams and introduced a very young Ethan Hawke, another one of my favorite (and very underrated) actors.

Growing up, I can't say I've had many role models to look up to. I think my upbringing and influences mostly came from my family, certain movies and filmmakers, and maybe a few hip hop artists.

Of all the famous people who passed away so far in my lifetime, hearing about Robin Williams was most heartbreaking to me, but his portrayal as Mr. Keating in Dead Poets Society will always be an inspiration, even if it's fiction.
