Steve Wozniak recently said in an interview that people should delete their Facebook accounts. That's rather extreme, but his concerns about privacy are not so uncommon these days, and it's somewhat alarming when such a declaration comes from the co-founder of Apple.
The Internet has been one of the greatest gifts to the world, but, unfortunately, there are going to be people who exploit it for evil.
Disconnect is one of those films that tell different stories, like having mini-movies within a movie, focusing on how the Internet and social media impact the lives of families and relationships. Some of the most interesting drama scenes have no spoken dialogue but instead are chat conversations, which is not that much different from real life. Frank Grillo and Jason Bateman, two of my favorite actors, are so good in Disconnect, truly some of their best work in playing the roles as fathers. Although it's not based on actual events, Disconnect is a powerful film that realistically portrays social interactions in the Information Age.
