A Few Good Men

Generally, films are casted well, and I rarely complain about actors not fitting their roles. Occasionally, a part matches an actor or actress so perfectly, it seems no one else could better play the role.

Jack Nicholson is truly one of the greatest actors of all time. He could play a minor role with uninteresting dialogue, and his performance could still make it interesting just with the way he makes eye contact and delivers his lines.

Sometimes after seeing A Few Good Men, I would think, "I can't think of anyone else who could play Colonel Nathan Jessup better than Jack Nicholson."

A Few Good Men was a refreshing take on the courtroom genre of films that were popular in the 1990s in that it takes place in the U.S. military. A few years later, there was a TV series about the Judge Advocate General, or JAG, for short.

Even though I've seen A Few Good Men so many times, its all-star cast's superb performances and memorable scenes let me enjoy the film every time.

Written by the same playwright who wrote the play, Aaron Sorkin, A Few Good Men is one of the best--if not THE best--courtroom dramas ever.
