Good Will Hunting

I tutored math up to Calculus and Differential Equations in college, but I'm far from being a math genius like Will Hunting. As with other classes, I don't think people remember most things they learned in school. But I'm a college dropout, so what do I know?

While a movie about mathematics doesn't exactly exude "summer blockbuster," Good Will Hunting was a commercial hit and earned several accolades. Speaking of which, I've always thought Robin Williams was robbed of an Oscar when he didn't win the award for Dead Poets Society, so thankfully, he won Best Supporting Actor for Good Will Hunting.

One thing that surprised me was the Oscar-winning screenplay was written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who were in their twenties when they wrote Good Will Hunting, and it was their screenwriting debut. What's also unusual is that the two close friends in real life both starred in the movie.

Good Will Hunting takes place in Boston, and it shouldn't be any surprise Matt Damon is from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard University.

Good Will Hunting is an intelligent and very wise film that revolves around mathematics, but it's ultimately about a troubled young man who is truly gifted. Not everyone has had a great support system when they were children, and in the worst of circumstances, many have been abused. While Will Hunting is a fictional character, I surmise there are some real Will Huntings out there. Say, do you like apples?
