24 Hours To Live

There's a plethora of movies about elite law enforcement agencies and military special operations forces (e.g., FBI, Navy SEALs), but I've wondered why Hollywood has not made more movies involving Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization.

Even Hawke is such a great actor, one of my favorites, but he's very particular in the roles he picks, so you will find him mostly in lesser-known independent films and not in too many commercial films, let alone action films (with 2016 The Magnificent Seven being one exception). So I was delightfully surprised to find Hawke headlining 24 Hours To Live.

Released in 2017, 24 Hours To Live is one of the best action films nobody has heard of. Ethan Hawke plays an independent contractor of a private military company and is hired to assassinate a whistleblower of the company and the Interpol agent assigned to protect him.

24 Hours To Live is an action movie gem whose story is not too generic. Action may not be a genre you will find Ethan Hawke frequently doing, but I hope another excellent script for the genre comes along that he will find interesting enough to do, like 24 Hours To Live.
