When I saw Brick Mansions with Paul Walker, I thought, "Wait a minute. Haven't I seen this movie before?" Indeed, released in 2014, Brick Mansions turned out to be a remake of a French film titled District B13 (Banlieue 13), which came out ten years before. There are minor changes with character names and plot, but otherwise, Brick Mansions is essentially the same movie as District B13, right down to some of the dialogue.
Interestingly, Brick Mansions was also co-produced and co-written by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element, The Transporter, Taken) and had French actor David Belle reprising his role from the original film.
Sadly, Brick Mansions was Paul Walker's last movie and is a highly underrated action movie. Gone too soon, Paul Walker will always be remembered for the Fast & Furious films, but Brick Mansions will always be among his best.
