S.W.A.T.: Firefight

Before becoming Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian, Giancarlo Esposito played a S.W.A.T. commander in an essentially unknown sequel to the 2003 S.W.A.T. movie with Colin Farrell and Samuel L. Jackson.

Released in 2011 as a direct-to-video, S.W.A.T.: Firefight is a standalone movie in the expanding S.W.A.T. franchise, so you don't have to see the first film to understand the sequel.

S.W.A.T.: Firefight may look like a TV show and not have the big production as its predecessor, but it's very well-written and has an excellent cast, which also includes Robert Patrick. S.W.A.T.: Firefight is a gem and one of my most favorite police action movies.
