Ffolkes

Roger Moore will always be remembered for being James Bond, and Anthony Perkins may be best remembered for Psycho, but there's a little-known and forgotten film from 1980 that was headlined by the two acting legends.

Alternatively titled North Sea Hijack and Assault Force, Ffolkes is like Die Hard on the water. Terrorists have rigged two oil rigs with explosives and are demanding a ransom from the British government.

Roger Moore plays an eccentric, snobbish sexist who leads a frogmen team, while Perkins plays the lead terrorist.

In contrast to his famous roles, Roger Moore does play an annoyingly arrogant character in Ffolkes, but nobody said the protagonist had to be likable. Even still, Moore delivers humor à la his iconic role as Agent 007, and the film smartly balances out the male chauvinism.

Ffolkes' premise is hardly original, but it came out several years before Die Hard, and seeing Roger Moore and Anthony Perkins play opposite each other is a treat for any classic movie fan. May they rest in peace.
