Aliens: Special Edition

James Cameron originally wrote Rambo: First Blood Part II, but Sylvester Stallone ended up changing much of his screenplay. While the 1985 film may not be entirely how James Cameron envisioned it, he still got screen credit, and his research about the Vietnam War was applied to Aliens, which he wrote and directed.

Aliens: Special Edition is the director's cut and contains 17 minutes of additional footage that adds to the story and character of the original film. For example, there's this whole subplot about Ripley's daughter, which further explains her attachment to Newt. Sigourney Weaver, who played Ripley, has been the bedrock of the film series, and she earned multiple accolades for her performance in Aliens.

Titanic and Avatar have been top-grossing movies, and they've overshadowed the success of other classic films by James Cameron. The theatrical version of Aliens continues to be a masterpiece, but its extended version makes the movie even better. Aliens: Special Edition is an absolute must-see.

Aliens: Special Edition is currently available on Vudu and Amazon Prime Video.
