The Forever Purge

The Purge film series is criminally underrated, and I'm not even a big fan of the horror genre. I became a fan since the first film, The Purge, with Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey and produced by Michael Bay, and have all the films in my movie collection.

Unlike many of today's sequels, you don't necessarily have to see the previous Purge movies to understand the fifth film, The Forever Purge. This installment takes an exciting twist on the government-sanctioned annual Purge event, in which crime and murder are allowed for 12 hours straight, and is a captivating social commentary on today's political climate.

The Purge movies have outstanding writing by James DeMonaco, along with excellent direction, action, cast, and characters.

Not surprisingly, the Purge films are bloody and violent, but they're ultimately about humanity and survival. I like every sequel in the Purge series, but I think The Forever Purge is the best one since the first film.
