Argo

I've started to have doubts about the future of humankind. Vulgar and disgusting people--particularly many students--have chosen to support anti-Semitism and terrorists in recent months. Yet for decades, Iran has always had terrorist organizations do their dirty work, and Hamas will forever be linked with Iran.

The news in the past several days about the Middle East have reminded me about an award-winning film directed by Ben Affleck. Argo seems so incredible and impausible that you would not believe it if you didn't know it was based on actual events.

Argo is about rescuing a group of U.S. Embassy employees out of Iran after the embassy was overtaken by a mob of Iranians. And what does the U.S. do? Have the CIA fund a movie production to get the Americans out. Like I said, incredible and impausible.

I don't believe Argo is meant to be an anti-Iran movie, but, rather, it's about unsung heroes who were driven to do the right thing. And despite the seriousness of the historical events, Argo interjects some humor that makes the movie border on being a comedy.

Argo is hands down one of Ben Affleck's best films as a director, but it's also an exceptional docudrama, worthy of its numerous nominations and wins, including an Oscar for Best Picture. If you have yet to see Argo, the film is an absolute must-see.
