Deliver Us From Evil

I did not know Olivia Munn was half-Vietnamese. She's come a long way, and I remember her starting her career as a host on Attack of the Show! on the G4 Channel. I can't say I was her biggest fan back then, but I've come to really appreciate her and her activism against Asian hate in recent years. Olivia has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and my heart goes out to her.

One of Olivia Munn's most notable roles was playing Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. However, a lesser-known movie a couple of years prior showcased her acting talent, in which she had a significant amount of screen time, playing opposite Eric Bana.

I've said I'm not a fan of horror, but Deliver Us From Evil stars Eric Bana and Γ‰dgar RamΓrez, two of my favorite and underrated actors, and the film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun, Beverly Hills Cop, The Rock, Crimson Tide, Bad Boys).

Deliver Us From Evil is about demonic possessions, and like The Exorcist, it's based on actual events. The film follows Sergeant Ralph Sarchie with a special unit of the NYPD. However, it's pretty obvious there were some creative liberties.

Deliver Us From Evil is one of those films I didn't have much expectations for, but it pleasantly surprised me. Directed by Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange), Deliver Us From Evil was also my first introduction to Olivia Munn's acting in a movie. Despite being a horror film about demonic possessions, it didn't feel disturbing. I found it chilling and highly recommend it, especially for those who enjoy exorcism-themed films.
