Before he became a household name, Russell Crowe played a Neo-Nazi skinhead in one of his very first movie roles in the Australian film Romper Stomper. The movie is mainly inspired by an actual and notorious Neo-Nazi in Australia and is about a gang of white supremacists going to war with members of the local Vietnamese community in Melbourne.
Even though the setting of the film is another country, the skinhead fashion and hate ideology are all too familiar. Released in 1992, Romper Stomper, in my opinion, is not as good as American History X with Edward Norton or Imperium, which was also based on true events. Imperium with Daniel Radcliffe is an absolute must-see and one of my top favorite films of all time. Still, Romper Stomper is an excellent film that provides a glimpse into the dark and evil world of white nationalism.
