It's not hyperbole to say Nikola Tesla was one of the greatest contributors to humankind. While Thomas Edison was developing and promoting his invention of direct current, George Westinghouse and Tesla worked on a competing and more efficient electrical system using alternating current.
It's unfortunate the name Tesla has been tossed around and dragged through the mud these days. Nikola Tesla, a Serbian immigrant, was a genius and will be remembered for his contributions to science and engineering. Over a century later, regardless of the technicalities of who founded the company, Tesla Motors was actually started by American engineers Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning--not Elon Musk.
Thomas Edison was one of the greatest inventors of all time, but he was also a politician. The Current War is a riveting historical docudrama about the war between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse to gain national acceptance of their electrical systems in the 1800s. Just as interesting are the people who associated with these two titans, like Nikola Tesla and J.P. Morgan.
With beautiful cinematography and Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon leading an excellent cast, The Current War is highly informative and educational as it is entertaining. And it shows the extremes individuals will go through to win in politics.
